I have been tagged by queenlyzard to continue the meme below. Aagh, thanks a lot. I'm doing this mostly because it gives me a reason to begin a project I have been wanting to do for years: compiling a list of every movie I have ever seen. I therefore created a My Movies area in imdb to begin this project. Although my comprehensive list is far from complete, I compiled enough titles to do the meme. This was very difficult because I like different kinds of movies (comedy, sci fi) for different reasons, but I gave it a shot.

I don't like tagging people for these silly meme projects. Tag yourself, if you like. Here's the meme:

Once tagged by this entry, the assignment is to list 10 movies: your 5 Favorites & your 5 Guilty Pleasures. Then, pick 5 of your friends and tag them. No tag backs. This explanation should be included.

Top Five Favorites
1. American Beauty
2. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (maybe this 3-for-1 is cheating)
3. All Bond movies with Sean Connery (cheating, I know)
4. The Matrix
5. Donnie Darko

Top Five Guilty Pleasures
1. The Big Lebowski
2. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
3. Fast Times at Ridgemont High
4. Krull
5. Candy

This meme sux. Even with cheating I had to leave off my list a bunch of movies I really love: Blade Runner, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, A Clockwork Orange, Kill Bill (Vols 1&2), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Shawshank Redemption, among others. (Okay, that's my final cheat.)

yeah, I had trouble not cheating on this one too...

Sorry for tagging you (*shuffles feet*), but I am glad you answered! Amazing how much you can tell about someone from their favorite movies-- almost as much as from their favorite books (ok, I just prefer books).

Yeah-- Matrix, Donnie Darko, and Ferris Bueller came pretty close to making my lists (heck-- I almost stuck "Breakfast Club" on my guilty pleasures). To be honest I'm sure there are quite a few I forgot-- every time I try to think of a list like this, my mind goes blank. I'm impressed by your project idea-- I don't think there's any way I could possibly recall all the movies I've ever seen (and I've seen very few for someone my age)!

Have to laugh, too-- my bf introduced me to half the movies you have listed here (he *loves* Big Lebowski and Krull). Maybe some day I'll convince him to get on lj.

Your boyfriend has excellent taste.

Now don't go putting together a book meme, which would be just as impossible as the movie meme, if not worse!

lol-- have you seen how many times I've had to edit my own movie-meme? I think I'd have an easier time with books, because I have a better memory of what I've (especially ones I've read many times) than of which movies I've watched.
