Union Milk Company?

Just before I awoke this morning I was having a dream about a delicious beer. "This beer is so good," I thought, "that I must try to buy it by mail order, even though Pennsylvania does not allow it. I have to figure out a way to do this." As my mind began to move from my dream state to a waking state, I realized that I was about to lose the name of the wonderful beer. With a willful effort, I looked at the label on the bottle one last time. I could not read the specific variety name, but I did see the brewing company: Union Milk.

Out of curiosity, I Googled Union Milk Co and found that such a company does exist. Unsurprisingly, they were in the dairy rather than beer business. They are listed as one of many officially defunct Wisconsin-based corporations.

In your dream, was the beer in a milk bottle? That may have been a clue. ;-)

Yeah, that would have been a clue, but it was an ordinary, brown beer bottle with a colorful paper label. I was certain that Union Milk was an actual brewery, even though in the dream itself I realized that the name was strange.

On the other hand, there is a type of beer known as milk stout . . .

Milk stout...that is interesting. I had no idea there was such a thing. I was thinking it would be called beer milk. But, I guess milk beer makes more sense.

Did you happen to notice who first sought a patent for a milk beer?

Edit.....very interesting indeed.

Dreams & LJ
You know how I feel about dreams. I think that they *might* mean more than most people realize. There must be a reason that we have them and when we have rdeams as vivid as the one that you described, it is definately worth checking out. Of course, maybe dreams mean nothing at all.
It is nice to see you posting to LJ again. Given our current situation, LJ posts might be the only way that I can keep up with what is happening in your life.

Re: Dreams & LJ
Yes, we should definitely stay in touch through LJ, which means I'll have to post real stuff in addition to my bizarre stuff. (Not that the bizarre isn't real--you know what I mean.)

BTW, folks around here are still waiting for hard evidence about the alleged house sale story obtained from deep throat.

Re: Dreams & LJ
your bizarre stuff is just as real to me as the, "Real" stuff. But, I do look forward to reading some actual accounts of what is happening in your life. I am creating a rather lengthy email that covers much of what we have talked about over the last several years. So far, it has been fun to write. At times I find myself laughing HARD, while at other times I am almost crying. You have helped me get through a great deal over the last couple of years and you will probably never fully understand just how much our time together has meant to me. Thanks dude!
***PS*** I plan to try to get some more info about the house sometime next week. I'll share...

Glad you enjoyed it, and good to see you back on LJ. Thanks so much for posting your trip photos, so those of us currently trapped in our mundane lives could get a taste of your adventure!

Wow, that actually makes sense. It is theoretically possible that I've seen a bottle of their milk stout because we vacation in Rhode Island every summer. I'm almost positive I've never tried it. I'm not a huge fan of milk stout. Last time I had one was two years ago at the Adamstown festival.

I'm torn between two theories now. 1. That somewhere along the line an ad for Union Station Milk Stout stuck in my brain; or 2. My unconscious tapped into (so to speak) an undiscovered secret: that Union Milk had a closet brewing business on the side.
