We had our traditional Imbolc dinner last night--the smorgasbord as described in The Witches' All. The spread consisted of a number of meats, fish, cheeses, and garnishes. The rule is to place three items on a round of white, pumpernickel, or rye bread. For example, cream cheese, a slice of salmon, and a sprig of dill. So many delicious tastes--what a feast! And after dinner there was the traditional glogg, following the recipe in The Witches' All. Of all the sabbats, Imbolc is my favorite. Through my life, February has always been a time of amazing energy.

One of my friends (zenmondo) also celebrated Imbolc, and he spoke highly of it. I found it interesting as I had actually never heard of it before.

You should try it next year, Sly--I think you'll like it!

Some events are well worth breaking a diet. If the celebration which you described contributed to your additional energy on Friday, then celebrate often! I guess it probably wasn't good for your health related goals (carbs and such) but, it did seem to lead to some of the best conversation to date!

Re: imbolc
Was that the conversation in which we talked about pooping?

No, wait--that was the previous Friday. Now there was some energized conversation!

Re: imbolc
It seems that almost all of my conversations turn to pooping, drugs or sex. Or, a combination of the three *smile*.
