Hmm, New Year's Eve. Never one of my favorite holidays. We're hosting a huge fondue party for all of our sons' friends. There are so many that we have to do it in shifts. Patrick's group of half-a-dozen 15-year olds just finished eating and are starting on video games, etc. Martin's over-21 crowd is due to arrive in about 15 minutes, as are Mike's nearly-21 friends. When Paul finishes closing at C. C. Peppers tonight he'll show up with an indeterminate number of friends.

I hope I get a bite in somewhere.

that sounds absurd. Poor you.

Use this as an opportunity to be amused by adolescent behavior? Thats what i'd do.

Yeah, I think I would have rather been at your parents' party last night eating the delicious-sounding food you made.

The good news is that some of the adolescents are eating and running out to do other things.

New Year's Eve Party...
It sounds like you had a nice party planned. Your children are fortunate to have parents who are involved to the extent that you and your wife are. I hope that all went well!
