Fucking up my lawn tractor

Heh. I should have known better. We just got back from a week on Block Island (separate post to follow) and I had a lot of catching up to do. Like changing the smelly cat litter, doing laundry, shopping to restock the empty refrigerator, and mowing the lawn. With all the activities today, I didn't start mowing until dusk. Everything went fine until I began mowing in the back of the house and I apparently ran over something BAD. I say apparently because I could barely see, even with my tractor headlights. The mower made a horrible sound, hung up, and began digging into the earth. I inspected the blades and found that one was now angled about 60 degrees downward. Oh well, the crappy Sears tractor never cut very evenly anyway. Maybe instead of replacing the blades I'll just buy a real tractor--a John Deere.

Argggh, that bites. At least you weren't harmed though!

You're right. I even kept my serenity after the incident. I calmly looked for the part number of the blades on the Sears web site, found that the blades were available at our local store, bought them today, installed them, and finished cutting my lawn. No big deal.

I did spend some time looking at the John Deere website. Looking at the difference in price between a new John Deere (starts at $1500) and new mower blades ($30), I suddenly became very reasonable.

Yeah, saving money can make a man more reasonable real quick!
