Like Clockwork ...

Samhain--my hands-down favorite holiday of the year. Last night I attended a very enjoyable Halloween party as Alex from A Clockwork Orange. I'm still waiting for the party photographer to post pictures from the party on the Web, but Carolyn took some shots of me before the party. The pic at http://www.personal.psu.edu/~j5j/droog.jpg shows the full costume except for my black boots. I donned my maskie and drew my weapon for the shot at http://www.personal.psu.edu/~j5j/maskie.jpg . The phallic maskie was a huge hit at the party. And Carolyn took a closeup to show my eye makeup: http://www.personal.psu.edu/~j5j/derby.jpg .

What a beautiful fall afternoon it was today. Warm, sky alternating between dark and light, with a strong wind blowing unpredictably. I got my leaves raked and gave the lawn its last mowing of the year. Good thing, too. The steering assembly came apart again and I lost a pin holding up the left side of the carriage. I had to wire everything up to make it through. I really need to consider getting a John Deere next time ...

Tonight, of course, is the real Samhain. I've been brewing my traditional glogg for the occasion, using the recipe from the Witches Almanac. Blessed Be!
